ORCHID by Jayne Castle - Review

I enjoy anything written by Jayne Castle or any of her other pseudonyms - Jayne Krentz or Amanda Quick. The characters are believable and likable, she also has a great way of painting the story, she is not as erotic as some of the other authors I enjoy. But she is one I keep coming back to time again. And this book was no exception - ORCHID is a re-read for me, a love story set in a futuristic time. And was just as enjoyable as the first time I read it.

Rafe Stonebraker, a dark and moody (got to love the bad boy thing) that is a high level strat-talent. His psychic abilities gives him the hunting instincts of an animal. Rafe is planning to take over his grandfather's position as CEO in order to save the company. But he needs a wife. Sounds like trouble!!

Orchid Adams is a strong prism who works at Psynergy Inc. She is also a writer of romance psychic vampire novels. Her family are all academics who live and work in a research center community. She helps Rafe with simple investigations by adding him with her psychic abilities. Orchid is a strong and intelligent heroine, that gives as good as she gets.

Once again Jayne Castle created an exciting New World with interesting characters and language inhabiting it.

ORCHID by Jayne Castle

Atop psychic for exclusive Psynergy Inc., Orchid Adams has her hands full with a baffling murder—which doesn’t exactly allow time for husband hunting. Is it even possible there’s a man on St. Helen’s who measures up to her dreams of wedded bliss? Take her new client, Rafe Stonebraker: primitive and elemental, an unlicensed P.I. with some serious secrets, Rafe is hardly marriage material. So why does his powerful presence have Orchid imagining the most outrageous affair? Rafe is embroiled in solving a strange theft while thwarting a hostile takeover of Stonebraker Shipping; he needs a wife—and fast—to salvage his credibility. Orchid Adams doesn’t fit the profile he had in mind, but she fits in his arms. Will their electrifying connection end up getting them burned?
